We Have Our Profile Book!!!
This past week, Chris and I completed our profile book! This was one of the hardest and most stressful parts of the whole adoption process! I think that we have logged at least 48 hours creating it. The profile book is an expectant mom's first impression of us and feels a lot like we are marketing ourselves. The way that I understand the process is as follows: The agency will give expectant moms who are making an adoption plan, 4-5 different couples' profile books; the mom looks through the books and based on what she sees, chooses one or two couples to meet in person, and so the process of making a "match" begins. Therefore, making the profile book accurately reflect Chris and I was extremely important to us and extremely hard to do. Neither of us really like to talk about ourselves, so it took a long time to make the book 'just right', but I totally love the way it turned out! We have ordered copies for the agency and once they receive them, as well as approve us from our social worker's report, we will be considered an "active" couple and will begin to have our profile shown. Our social worker thinks that this should all happen by the beginning of August. We are one step closer...super excited...and a little scared! Things are happening and we praise the Lord every day for all of his blessings, including each and every one of you!
If you'd like to see how the pages turned out, I took screen shots below. At the very end of the post is a slideshow with close up pictures of each page so it is easier to read.
